DJ Fairhurst, PhD

- His research focuses on factors impacting managerial decision making related to corporate financing and investment decisions. He also has industry experience as a financial analyst, a tax auditor, and a trust accountant.
- DJ and his wife Kindra have three daughters and one son. As a family, they enjoy different outdoor activities and family movie nights.

Dogan Gursoy, PhD
- Teaches HBM 535
- He is one of the few hospitality and tourism scholars who received the top 1% Highly Cited Researcher Award and Recognition from Clarivate in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.
- Born and raised in Turkey, he moved to the United States at the age of 25, where he has built both a fulfilling personal life and a long-standing professional career. He is married and the proud parent of one son.
Angie Howard, MBA

- She is an animation studio executive with more than 20 years of experience. Currently, she works for DreamWorks Animation as the VP of custom animation.
- She enjoys traveling, snowboarding, hiking, reading and watching movies.
Jianli Hu, PhD
- Teaches BA 502
- Jianli Hu holds a Ph.D. in Operations Management and an M.A. in Apparel Merchandising, both from Washington State University. Her primary research interests focus on supply chain management, inventory management, and forecasting.
- She enjoys traveling, reading, baking, and hiking. She finds inspiration in exploring new cultures and cuisines, and she often seeks out unique local experiences wherever she goes.
Dipra Jha, PhD

- He is recognized as an expert in luxury hospitality and tourism strategy, and he currently serves on the Board of Directors of State of Washington Tourism.
- He enjoys travel, jazz, and great food!
Nathan Johnson, PhD

- He has more than 15 years of academic leadership and teaching. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
- He can be found with his family enjoying anything that can be done outdoors.
Jeff Joireman, PhD

- He has published more than 75 articles in leading journals, and along with Paul Van Lange, published a book titled How to Publish High-Quality Research.
- He enjoys hiking, backpacking, climbing, travel, and photography.

- Michael has extensive executive leadership and entrepreneurial experience in the tech industry. Michael’s focus is on helping students and business leaders think strategically about how to integrate AI into products, services, and operations in ways that generate measurable earnings impact.

- She is the Terry Umbreit Distinguished Professor in Hospitality Management. Her work combines teaching and research to explore how organizations can deliver exceptional service and foster effective, people-centered workplaces.
- She has a wonderful spouse and a daughter who bring joy to her life. They’ve made their home in Pullman, where she’s lived for over 20 years.

- After graduation, she worked at an advertising agency. She then switched careers and went to work for Target Corporation where she held multiple roles. She gained valuable real-world experience from these positions that she loves to share in the classroom.
- She is married with two young children and enjoys outdoor activities and sports. She also loves travel.
